Tatanagar RPF’s vigilance leads to recovery of lost belongings

Jamshedpur, Jan 28: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Tatanagar has accomplished notable successes through its vigilant efforts, including the apprehension of a mobile phone thief and the successful return of lost belongings to three passengers.

In the first instance, a special operation under Operation Passenger Security led to the arrest of Pawan Singh, a resident of Purulia, West Bengal. The RPF Flying Squad and CIB team, acting on suspicions, examined Singh and discovered a mobile phone in his possession without a SIM card. During interrogation, Singh admitted to stealing the mobile phone from a passenger. Following a thorough investigation, the RPF successfully returned the phone to its owner, Ayub Khan, a resident of Kolkata.

Another commendable effort by the RPF involved the recovery of a bag and an abandoned laptop from platform number 5. A diary inside the bag contained a mobile number, which the RPF team used to contact the owner. The bag, along with its contents, was handed over to Amit Kumar, a resident of Kolkata, who expressed gratitude to the Railway Police Force for the recovery of his belongings worth Rs 50 thousand.

In a separate incident, the RPF received information about a passenger’s luggage left behind in the Jan Shatabdi Express on January 25. Acting swiftly, the team recovered the bag from the D12 coach and informed the owner, Om Kumar Sharma from Katihar, Bihar. Sharma, who arrived on Saturday, retrieved his belongings, which included a mobile phone and various clothing items valued at Rs 17 thousand.

Furthermore, the RPF also facilitated the return of a lost mobile phone to Chittaranjan Ghosh, a resident of Agrico.
