Jamshedpur: Rs 15 lakh theft case solved in 24 hours, minor arrested

Jamshedpur, Jan 28: Birsanagar police successfully exposed a theft amounting to lakhs within a mere 24 hours. The stolen goods, valued at Rs 15 lakh, have been recovered, and a minor accused has been apprehended in connection with the incident.

The revelation came to light on Sunday, as In-charge ASP City, Sumit Aggarwal, shared details of the operation. The case unfolded when Gautam Singh Rai, a resident of Birsa Nagar Zone No. 4, reported a theft from his house on Friday. Acting promptly on the written complaint filed by Gautam on Saturday, the police identified and detained a minor suspect.

Following the minor’s interrogation, law enforcement recovered the stolen jewelry concealed in nearby bushes. The estimated value of the recovered items stands at Rs 15 lakh. According to ASP Aggarwal, the accused was employed for odd jobs at the complainant’s residence. Seizing an opportune moment, the minor pilfered the jewelry while Gautam was away attending a party. Subsequently, the stolen items were stashed in the bushes.

The arrested minor has been remanded to a juvenile home as legal proceedings progress.
