Jamshedpur, April 10: Inspector General (IG) of RPF at Kolkata summoned a Railway Protection Force (RPF) officer of Tatanagar for allegedly misbehaving with a city-based trader on Thursday last. He issued a show-cause notice to the officer seeking his explanation for such uncalled for behaviour with passengers, sources said.

According to sources, the accused RPF officer, wearing civil dress, had stopped one Dhananjay Yadav when the latter just came out of the South Bihar Express train with luggage. A train ticket examiner (TTE) accompanied the RPF officer who asked Yadav to open his bag. Yadav tried to explain that it was not possible for him to open and show the entire luggage as he was in a hurry. The accused officer allegedly misbehaved with Yadav and also threatened and abused him, sources said.

Yadav tried to make the officer see reason, but the latter did not listen to him and checked his luggage. Nothing objectionable was found from the businessman’s bag. Thereafter, the businessman was allowed to go.

Hurt by the incident, Yadav tweeted the incident to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Railway Board and senior Railway and RPF authorities. Taking prompt action, the RPF IG called the accused RPF officer to his office in Kolkata and gave him a dressing-down for his misbehaviour towards the passenger.
