Tatanagar: President flags-off three trains from Badampahar

Jamshedpur: In a momentous occasion, Draupadi Murmu, the President, inaugurated a new chapter in rail connectivity for Badampahar, Odisha, by flagging off three express trains and laying the foundation stone for the redevelopment of the Badampahar Railway Station. The event, held on Tuesday, witnessed the convergence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Odisha Governor, Union Ministers, and Railway officials.

Inauguration of Three New Trains: Badampahar-Tatanagar MEMU Service: The newly introduced MEMU service connecting Badampahar and Tatanagar will enhance the daily commute for residents, operating six days a week.

Badampahar-Rourkela Express: The Badampahar-Rourkela Weekly Express, operating every Sunday, establishes a crucial link between Odisha and Jharkhand, facilitating smooth transportation.

Badampahar-Shalimar Express: The Badampahar-Shalimar Weekly Express, operating on a weekly basis, strengthens connectivity between Badampahar and West Bengal, promoting regional growth.

President Murmu also laid the foundation stone for the comprehensive redevelopment of the Badampahar Railway Station under the Amrit Station Scheme. The estimated cost of Rs. 12.22 crores will fund the creation of a modernized station building, prioritizing passenger comfort and convenience.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of various dignitaries, adding prestige to the occasion:

Raghubar Das, Governor of Odisha: Acknowledged the transformative impact of enhanced rail connectivity on regional development and prosperity.

Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister for Education and Skill Development: Emphasized the role of railways in bolstering economic activities and fostering skill development.

Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics & Information Technology: Outlined the government’s commitment to advancing railway infrastructure and leveraging technology for efficient services.

Bishweswar Tudu, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs: Highlighted the inclusive nature of development projects, ensuring benefits reach all sections of society.

Sudam Marndi, Minister of Revenue & Disaster Management and School & Mass Education, Govt. of Odisha: Underlined the collaborative efforts between the state and central governments for comprehensive development.

 The introduction of these three key trains is expected to stimulate economic growth, improve accessibility, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents in Eastern Odisha. The enhanced rail connectivity will also positively impact business, industry, tourism, and educational and healthcare accessibility.
