Jamshedpur, August 8: The Vande Bharat Express will commence operations between Tatanagar and Patna from August 15 thereby reducing the travel time significantly. The train is expected to complete the journey in about six and half to seven hours compared to the current ten and half to eleven hours. The official announcement of the schedule has yet to be made by the railways.
According to sources, the trial runs for the Vande Bharat Express are scheduled to begin on August 10. The railway rakes for this service have already arrived in Chakradharpur. “Preparations are in full swing for the launch with trial operations starting soon,” a railway official said.
The Vande Bharat Express is designed to enhance the travel experience with faster speeds and improved comforts.
Tatanagar is being developed into a major maintenance hub for the Vande Bharat trains. Trackside traction wires are being installed at Washing Line number 1 and modern equipment worth Rs. 22 crore are being set up. The installation of these traction wires is expected to be completed by August 10 allowing for the effective washing and maintenance of the train coaches. The trials will assess the train’s speed, safety and comfort. If successful, regular service between Tatanagar and Patna will commence from August 15.
Employees from Tatanagar coaching depot who received training for the maintenance of the Vande Bharat have returned and will now train the local staff. This training will cover all technical and safety standards required for maintaining the Vande Bharat trains. The development underscores the commitment to provide efficient and high-quality rail services.
