Tatanagar: Jamshedpur MP urges to increase Rajdhani Express frequency

Bidyut Baran Mahto chairs SER meeting, demands extension of rail facilities to Bandwan, Nimdih, Bodam and Patamda

Jamshedpur, Jan 13: The meeting was chaired by MP Bidyut Baran Mahto. As the seniormost MP present, Mahto presided over the meeting and provided a platform for MPs and their representatives to raise the demands of their respective constituencies.

During the session, MP Bidyut Baran Mahto outlined several key issues affecting Jamshedpur and the surrounding areas, focusing primarily on improving railway services. Among the major demands were the stoppage of the Ranchi Howrah Intercity Express at Chakulia on its way to Howrah, the restarting of the Antyodaya Express from Tata, and direct train services from Tata to New Delhi, Jaipur and Bangalore (via Katpadi and Tirupati).

Additionally, Mahto called for the construction of a halt at Barkola between Chakulia and Dhalbhumgarh, upgrading Sidirsai station by increasing its height and expanding passenger facilities and building a foot over bridge at Dhalbhumgarh.

The MP also highlighted the delay in constructing railway over bridges at Govindpur and Barigoda and called for the extension of rail facilities to Bandwan via Chandil, Nimdih, Bodam and Patamda.

Other demands included the construction of the Kandra Namkum railway line, increasing the number of trips of the Rajdhani Express, revising the schedule and route of Dhanbad Tatanagar Swarnarekha Express, starting a Tata Koderma Intercity via Hazaribagh Town and extending the Tata Asansol Express to Sahibganj. Furthermore, there were calls to boost the number of trips of Tatanagar SMVT Express, restart the Tata Ranchi Intercity, and extend it to Lohardaga.
