Tatanagar-Hatia, Tatanagar-Asansol Express among four trains cancelled in view of developmental work in CKP Division

Jamshedpur, May 11: The South Eastern Railway ( SER) Division has announced the regulation of several trains due to the ongoing developmental works in the region. The move comes as part of the division’s efforts to upgrade the infrastructure.

In view of traffic-cum-power block for launching of Girder over Railway Track at Road Over Bridge between Chandil-Manikul in Tatanagar-Chandil section, the following trains will be regulated on May 12 as under: Cancellation of Trains 18601/18602  Tatanagar-Hatia-Tatanagar Express will remain cancelled, 13511/13512 Tatanagar-Asansol-Tatanagar Express will remain cancelled, 08151/18152 Tatanagar-Barkakana-Tatanagar Passenger will remain cancelled, 08697/08698 Jhargram-Purulia-Jhargram Passenger will remain cancelled. Short Termination/Short Origination of Train: 08173 Asansol-Tatanagar MEMU Passenger, journey commencing on 12.05.2023 will be short terminated at/short originated from Purulia. Therefore, the service between Tatanagar-Purulia will remain cancelled.

“ The developmental works include track maintenance, signaling, and electrification work, which require the regulation of trains to ensure safety and smooth functioning of the rail network. The regulation of trains is expected to cause some inconvenience to passengers, but the division has assured that all efforts will be made to minimize the impact,” said an official.

According to the latest update, several trains have been regulated for varying periods of time, depending on the extent of the work being carried out. The affected trains include long-distance express trains, passenger trains, and local trains.

The division has also advised passengers to check the status of their trains before commencing their journey to avoid any inconvenience. Passengers have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with the railway authorities during this period.

The developmental works are part of the division’s ongoing efforts to upgrade the rail infrastructure and improve the passenger experience.
