Adra Division rolling block disrupts rail services
Jamshedpur, June 8: Rail services under the Adra Railway Division of South Eastern Railway will remain affected from June 8 to June 14 due to a rolling block being undertaken for infrastructure development and safety-related works. Several passenger and express trains have either been cancelled, short-terminated, or diverted during this period, causing inconvenience to passengers travelling through the Tatanagar route.
According to railway officials, four pairs of MEMU passenger trains have been completely cancelled on different dates. These include the 68061/68062 Adra-Asansol-Adra MEMU on June 8 and 11, the 68090/68089 Adra-Midnapore-Adra MEMU on June 9, 12 and 14, the 68077/68078 Adra-Bhaga-Adra MEMU on June 9 and 14, and the 68079/68080 Bhojudih-Chandrapura-Bhojudih MEMU on June 9, 12 and 14.
Several trains will also be short-terminated before reaching their scheduled destinations. The 18116/18115 Chakradharpur-Gomoh-Chakradharpur Express will run only up to Mahuda station on June 9, 12 and 14 and will remain cancelled between Mahuda and Gomoh. Similarly, the 18035/18036 Kharagpur-Hatia-Kharagpur Express will operate only up to Adra on June 10 and 13, while services between Adra and Hatia will remain suspended.
The 68055/68056 Asansol-Tata-Asansol MEMU and the 63594/63593 Asansol-Purulia-Asansol MEMU will also terminate at Adra on June 10 and 13. In addition, the 68056/68060 Tatanagar-Asansol-Tata MEMU will run only up to Adra on June 11.
Meanwhile, Train No. 18601 Tatanagar-Hatia Express will run on a diverted route via Chandil-Gundabihar-Muri instead of the regular Chandil-Purulia-Muri section on June 9 and 13.
Railway authorities have advised passengers to check the live running status of their trains before starting their journey to avoid inconvenience.
