Jamshedpur: Early Monday morning, a bomb threat targeting the Mumbai-Howrah Mail created panic, leading to an emergency halt of train number 12809 near Jalgaon, Maharashtra. The passengers were immediately evacuated, and a thorough search of the train was conducted.
The threat, reportedly received via both email and phone around 4 AM, claimed that a timer bomb had been planted on the train. This prompted railway authorities to stop the train near Jalgaon station, where bomb squads and security teams, including the Railway Protection Force (RPF), rushed to the scene for inspection.
After an exhaustive search, no explosive device or suspicious items were found, allowing the railway officials to breathe a sigh of relief. The train resumed its journey after the security clearance, easing the tension among passengers.
Many passengers from Jharkhand, including those from Tatanagar, were onboard at the time. Despite the initial fear and confusion, no injuries or harm were reported. Authorities continue to investigate the source of the bomb threat.
