Jamshedpur youth stabbed to death During Puja pandal hopping

Jamshedpur: In a tragic incident late Saturday night, a 21-year-old youth, Debraj Pillai, was fatally stabbed during a clash between two groups of bikers near SNTI on N-Road in Bistupur, Jamshedpur. The incident occurred while both groups were out pandal hopping for Durga Puja. Debraj, a resident of Ulyan in Kadma, was accompanied by three friends on two bikes when a minor collision with another group of bikers escalated into violence.

According to police, after the initial altercation, the rival group called in 20-25 more individuals to the scene. In the ensuing chaos, one of the youths from the rival group repeatedly stabbed Debraj, leaving him gravely injured. His friends—Ankit, Vishal, and Gautam Mahto—rushed him to Tata Main Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Authorities are investigating the incident and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area, but no arrests have been made yet. Debraj, the son of R. Pillai, was scheduled to join a contractual position at Tata Steel the following day.
