Tatanagar: Assistant Loco Pilot killed on duty

Jamshedpur, May 24: Assistant loco pilot Manish Kumar died after being hit by a train at Tunia railway station of Chakradharpur railway division of South Eastern Railway. The deceased assistant loco pilot was a resident of Jamalpur in Munger district of Bihar.

Only after three years of service, he became a victim of this accident and died. According to the information received, assistant loco pilot Manish Kumar was doing duty from Rourkela in BLC Cont CTC goods train going from Rourkela to Chakradharpur. Tuesday night when the train stopped near Tunia station he got down from the train and did not return for a long time.

Later, goods train guard Pankaj Kumar told that at around 7.30 pm, loco driver P Sahu informed him that assistant loco pilot Manish Kumar was no more. Then the guard called on his mobile. But the phone was not received. The driver informed the Tunia station master about this. After this the search for Manish Kumar started. The dead body of the assistant loco pilot was found on the down line at around eight o’clock in the night.

Looking at the condition of the dead body, it can be inferred that he might have died due to being hit by the train. But it is also clear that no one saw him getting hit by the train.
