Tatanagar: 26 trains including Duronto, Geetanjali, Azad Hind Express cancelled for 15 days

Jamshedpur: A total of 26 trains, including several major express services such as Duronto Express, Geetanjali Express, and Azad Hind Express, will remain cancelled for 15 days due to ongoing railway line work in Jharkhand. The South Eastern Railway has announced a line block to facilitate the connection of the third and fourth lines between Bilaspur and Jharsuguda, impacting train operations between April 10 and April 24.

This major disruption will affect thousands of passengers from Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra, many of whom had booked tickets months in advance. Passengers will now have to make alternative travel arrangements during this period.

Thirteen pairs of trains from Tatanagar will remain non-operational. These include the Tatanagar-Bilaspur Express, Tatanagar-Itwari Express, Santragachi-Jabalpur Express, Santragachi-Pune Express, Bilaspur-Patna Express, Howrah-Mumbai Express, LTT-Shalimar Express, and Howrah-Sainagar Shirdi Express.

Notably, Pune-Howrah Azad Hind Express will be cancelled from April 10 to 19 and again from April 11 to 24. Similarly, Mumbai-Howrah Geetanjali Express will not run on April 11 and 24. Howrah-Pune Duronto Express will remain cancelled from April 10 to 21. Other affected trains include Porbandar-Shalimar Express (April 9–19) and Mumbai-Shalimar Gyaneshwari Express (April 11–24).

In addition to this, a separate block has been imposed on the Manikui-Kunki section for railway bridge repair. As a result, train services from Tatanagar to Hatia and Barkakana have been cancelled for Thursday, as per Chakradharpur division’s latest notice.

Passengers are advised to check train schedules before travel and plan accordingly.
