Jamshedpur: Tata Zoo will celebrate �Wildlife Week-2018� from Tuesday onwards where in programmes like debate, fancy dress parade, painting competition etc are lined up for the school students.
V.N. Shah, IFS, Regional Chief Conservator of Forest, Singhbhum, department of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Government of Jharkhand will be the Chief Guest during the inaugural function on Tuesday evening.
Notably, During the Wildlife Week celebrations, Zoos� throughout India organize various activities to generate awareness regarding the need for nature conservation and preservation of wild flora and fauna of the country.
Every zoo in the world has a mandate to achieve the Aichi target -1 of the strategic plan for biodiversity conservation 2020. As part of this strategic plan, like previous years, this year too Tata Zoo will be Celebrating the Wildlife Week. Celebrations will commence at Tata Steel Zoological Park from Monday, 2nd October and will continue till Friday, 06th October.
Activities like Best Eco Club Teacher Award 2017-18 and Essay Writing Competition (In both languages) have already been done. During this week, Over 1000 school students from various schools of city would participate in different events and programmes. Inauguration and prize distribution for the Best Eco Club Teacher Award and for Essay Writing Competition in English and Hindi categories will be held on October 2 from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. Debate (English & Hindi) from 9:00am to 12:00noon on October 3. Fancy Dress Parade (Relating to Animals & Plants) will be organised from 9:30am to 12:00 noon on October 5. The event will conclude with On-the-spot Painting Competition and Closing Ceremony from 9:00am to 12:00 noon on October 6.
