Jamshedpur, August 7: Members of Tata Workers Union (TWU) today paid homage to former Vice-President of the Union Sardar Treta Singh on his 71st anniversary.
On the ocassion a condolence meet was held at the premises of TWU which was headed by Vice-president of the Union Subodh Srivastav on Thursday evening.
Sheding light on the life of Treta Singh, Srivastav said that Singh was employed at Electrical Repair Shop of Tata Steel along with being the VP. Singh had terrific leadership skills which was the reason he was quite famous among the workers.
Srivastav further said that Treta Singh was also a freedom fighter who was arrested on 15th August 1942 and died at Bankipur Central Jail on 7th August 1943 during Satyagraha.
At the event Editor of �Ispat Majdoor� the monthly newspaper, Dr. SM Singh �Manas� put light into the life of Treta Singh.
At the event VP of Union Arvind Kumar Pandey, S Alam, Assistant Secretary RK Singh. Treasurer R Ravi Prasad, several committee members along with members of the union were present.
