Jamshedpur, Jan 20: Election to the century old Tata Workers Union would be held on January 31.
The election schedule for the workers union was announced on Wednesday afternoon by election officer, Santosh Kumar Singh and the entire election process would be held inside the Tata Steel works premises between 7 am and 3 pm.
Around 12,500 union members will elect 214 committee members and the counting of votes would be held at the Steelennium Hall inside the works premises and the winners name would be announced at the same site.

The electoral region of various departments would be announced on January 20 at around 4 pm and any objections and claims would be entertained pertaining to electoral region on January 21 between 9 am and 12 noon and on the same day at 5 pm the final list of the electoral region would be declared and by 6 pm the voter’s list for each electoral region would be declared.
On January 22, objections and claims for voter’s list would be entertained between 9 am and 4 pm and on January 23 the final voter’s list would be announced at around 5 pm. The nomination papers would be distributed on January 24 between 9 am and 1.30 pm and between 3 pm and 5 pm while nomination papers would have to be submitted on January 25 between 9 am and 1.30 pm and between 3 am and 5 pm.

The name of the candidates would be declared on January 27 and the nomination papers scrutiny would be held at 9.30 am while candidate’s final list would be announced at around 8 pm. Nomination papers could be withdrawn on January 28 between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm while the final list of nomination papers would be announced on January 28 at around 2 pm.
The identity cards and ballot papers samples for candidates would be distributed on January 29 between 9 am and 12.30 pm and between 3 pm and 4.30 pm while on January 31 voting would be held between 7 am and 3 pm and counting would begin from 5 pm on the same day. The new committee members meeting would be held on the same day for electing the new executive committee of the union on the same day evening.
The newly elected executive committee members would be distributed certificates on February 11 at around 10 am and the polling process would conclude on February 12 at 6 pm.
