Jamshedpur, Jan 4: The next general election of Tata Workers Union will be held on January 31, 2021, a formal election notification will be issued soon.
A meeting in this connection was held amongst the 11 office bearers of Tata Workers Union on Monday at the union office in Bistupur in which it was unanimously decided to hold the election as soon as possible, but before announcement of the dates a formal house committee meeting and a consent has to be taken from all the 214 committee members and after which union general secretary Satish Kumar Singh will finally announce the election schedule.
Thereafter, electoral officer and a five-member sub-election committee will be elected and the electoral officer will conduct the elections.
The current tenure of the union office-bearers will come to an end on February 15, 2021 and electon has to be held before this date.
Sources said that Tata Steel company management have also given their nod on the election issue of union as the election has to be conducted inside the company work’s premises and company permission is required for polling and counting of votes. There will be new protocols for the election due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
