Tata Steel�s West Bokaro Division celebrates International Olympic Day

West Bokaro: Tata Steel�s West Bokaro Division celebrated the �International Olympic Day� with a friendly football match between Tata Steel�s Feeder Centre and Laiyo Football Club at Sports Complex, West Bokaro on Saturday.

Jointly organized by Tata Steel Rural Development Society and Sports Department, the friendly match aimed at creating awareness among the public on the significance of the day and to build team spirit among the players.

The friendly match was inaugurated by Sahabji Kuchroo, Chief Operations, Tata Steel (West Bokaro) in the presence of Mohan Mahto, President, Rastriya Colliery Mazdoor Sangh (RCMS), Munna Viswakarma, Assistant Secretary, RCMS and Colonel Bhawani Singh Nirwan, Head, Stakeholder Management, Tata Steel (West Bokaro).

Both the teams exhibited excellent sportsmanship and skills during the match which was won by Tata Steel�s Feeder Centre by 3-0.

Speaking on the occasion, Kuchroo said, �Sports is a great way to shape up body and mind. At Tata Steel, we have always believed that it is the key to a healthy life and a progressive society.�

Addressing the gathering, Mahto said, �At Tata Steel, we have always promoted sports in and around our areas of operation and it reflects in the success of our Feeder centre which has produced many national and international level players.�
It is worth mentioning here that this year marks 70th anniversary of Olympic Day. The Olympic Day was initiated in 1948 in commemoration of the founding of the International Olympic Committee on June 23, 1894.
