Jamshedpur, May 4: Vinay Tyagi, the National Business Head for Tata Pravesh doors manufactured by Tata Steel, was stabbed to death in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred near Khaitan Public School in Shalimar Garden.
Tyagi, who was posted in Delhi, had recently been transferred from Kolkata to the capital. He was found seriously injured near a drain close to Khaitan Public School around 3 am on Saturday. Despite being rushed to Narendra Mohan Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
His mobile phone and laptop were reported missing after the attack. Tyagi, who often commuted to the office by metro, had shared his location around 11 pm on Friday, prompting his family to initiate a search when he did not return home by his usual time of 10 pm.
Sahibabad police are conducting investigations with CCTV footage and manual surveillance being examined. The 42-year-old Tyagi resided in Delhi with his wife and two children.
Shalimar Garden ACP Siddharth Gautam stated that Tyagi had sustained significant wounds to his chest and stomach, with minimal blood found at the crime scene. Forensic teams are currently investigating the case, and three teams have been deployed to unravel the incident.
Tata Steel has extended full support to Tyagi’s family, expressing condolences on behalf of the company.
