Jharia, October 10: Tata Steel’s Jharia Division paid tribute to Padma Vibhushan Ratan N Tata, who passed away on October 9, 2024. A memorial service was held today on the General Manager’s Office lawn. Attendees included Sanjay Rajoria (General Manager, Jharia Division), Sunita Rajoria, Narendra Kumar Gupta (Chief, Jamadoba), Vikash Kumar (Chief, Sijua Group), Santosh Mahato (Regional Secretary, Rashtriya Colliery Mazdoor Union), union officials, company employees, vendor partners, and their families and community members. Approximately 400 people gathered at the General Manager’s Office and the Sijua Group Office to pay their respects.
Sanjay Rajoria spoke of Ratan Tata’s transformative vision on the Indian business landscape and the irreplaceable void his passing leaves. A two-minute silence was observed to commemorate his significant contributions to the nation, society, and humanity.
