Jamshedpur, Sept 9: To enhance safety during the road transportation of coal, a state-of-the-art Transportation Park was inaugurated near 6&7 Pits area of Jamadoba Group, Jharia Division.
The Park is mainly dedicated to trucks plying to Jamadoba Coal Preparation Plant. The Transportation Park was inaugurated today by D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President Raw Materials, Tata Steel, in the presence of Sanjay Rajoria, General Manager, Jharia Division, Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Chief (Safety), Saroj Kumar Banerjee, Chief Safety (Raw Materials) , Mayank Sekhar, Chief (Sijua Group), Jharia Division, Tata Steel, Santosh Mahato, Regional Secretary, Rashtriya Colliery Mazdoor Union, and other officials of Tata Steel and members of the Union.
The Transportation Park has several special facilities including separate parking slots to accommodate 26 vehicles, concrete stoppers and roll back arrestor, a dedicated pathway for safe movement of drivers, amenities like a rest room with bathing facility and washroom for drivers, Vendor Office Complex, Security Control Room with all-round CCTV surveillance, training area for drivers, access control through suitable gates, drop gates and signal lights, and adequate illumination for nighttime operation
In addition to the Transportation Park, D B Sundara Ramam inaugurated the enhanced feature of displaying safety-related videos in buses for employees of Jharia Division. This feature will increase coverage of safety-related videos and e-learning modules by imparting visual-based training to employees while they travel to office and back.
Sundara Ramam congratulated Town Maintenance Department and HRM department for this achievement and stated that bringing up such advanced infrastructures with amenities will not only help in improving road safety but also keep employees and workers vigilant, especially drivers. The travel time will also be meaningfully utilised, and employees will be more sensitised towards safety.
Jharia Division aims to accomplish more such milestones in the future to further enhance road safety and provide a safe and healthy work environment for all.
