Jamshedpur, Nov 25: The residents of Lal Bhatta, Babudih and Bhuiyandih would soon be able to avail power supply from Tata Steel UISL. This was declared by Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy on Friday.

Roy said the basic infrastructure for electricity supply in Bagun Nagar, Chhayanagar, Chandinagar and Nirmal Nagar would be completed by January. Thereafter the local residents willing to avail the facility may apply for the same. Within a month, power connection forms would also be distributed at Vinoba Ashram in Burmamines, said Roy.

Roy said Tata Steel UISL had taken the initiative to supply power to households situated close to Moharda main road. “The final survey has been completed. The process to get NOC from road construction department for laying power cables in Moharda is underway,” he said.

Roy assured to help the company authorities get NOC without delay to ensure speedy completion of all formalities. He said a dedicated cable would be laid up to a distance of three kilometers from Tata Steel UISL sub-station and a sub-station would be set up near Odiya School for supply power in Moharda area.

The MLA said he was informed about the developments by the General Manager of Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited, Jamshedpur, Shravan Kumar, at a meeting. He said he had raised the issue of providing power supply to all citizens of lease area by Tata Steel UISL in the Jharkhand Assembly. A committee led by the electricity GM was formed for this purpose. The third meeting of the committee was held today. It was also attended by Roy.

Roy said all high-mast lamps across Jamshedpur East constituency would start getting power from Tata Steel UISL within next one month. He added that the households in Cable Town and Cable Basti in Golmuri would be supplied electricity separately.

Roy said the GM had assured him to link over 20 high-mast lamps to the company’s power supply within a month.
