Tata Steel UISL plants 2000 saplings in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 5: Tata Steel UISL marked World Environment Day with a significant tree-planting event, emphasizing its commitment to environmental sustainability. Over 2000 saplings were planted at Neem Baug and CRM Bara, featuring a diverse range of species including Mahogany, Karanj, Jungle Jalebi, Mahaneem, Nagchampa, Imli, Chatim, Siris, Kadam, Tabebuia, Peltaphorum, and Neem. This variety ensures a rich and balanced ecosystem, enhancing biodiversity and ecological resilience.

Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel UISL, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Raghunath Pandey, President, JUSCO Shramik Union. He was joined by Pranay Sinha, Chief, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, and Varun Bajaj, Chief, Town Infrastructure & Logistics, Tata Steel. Their presence underscored the company’s unified effort towards environmental stewardship.

The Upstream Recycling RRR Centre was inaugurated at Uliyan Flats by Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director of Tata Steel UISL. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the local community, including residents of Uliyan flats, Kadma, and senior citizens, who collectively contributed to the tree-planting activity. This communal effort not only highlighted the importance of individual contributions to environmental conservation but also fostered a spirit of unity and shared responsibility.

This initiative is part of Tata Steel UISL’s broader environmental agenda, which includes various projects aimed at reducing carbon footprint, conserving natural resources, and promoting sustainable practices across all operations.
