Jamshedpur, June 5: The Horticultural Society Jamshedpur commemorated World Environment Day by launching a project to develop a rose garden in collaboration with Tata Steel UISL. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.”
The event featured a rose planting ceremony led by Sumita Nupur, President of the Horticultural Society Jamshedpur, and Pranay Sinha, Chief, Corporate Affairs at Tata Steel. Other notable attendees included B K Maity (Vice President), Dr. Anuradha Mahapatra (General Secretary), Jayanta Ghosh, A K Srivastava, Bipin Kumar, K Shaw, Alok Choudhary, Manoj Kumar, Chandan Dalal, S B Mondal, and Kamal Kishore, along with other society members.
“The rose garden project is generously supported by Tata Steel and Tata Steel UISL. The Horticultural Society expressed its profound appreciation for the support from these organizations, which will help create a beautiful rose garden for the residents of Jamshedpur. This initiative aims to enhance the city’s green spaces and aligns with global efforts toward environmental sustainability and resilience against desertification and drought,” said a press communique issued by Horticultural Society.
