Jamshedpur, Sep 7: The General Manager of Tata Steel UISL recently convened a meeting with representatives from the Jamshedpur Durga Puja Central Committee to discuss preparations for the upcoming Durga Puja festival. With only a month remaining before the celebrations, the meeting addressed several critical issues related to the construction of pandals and associated arrangements.

Key concerns highlighted included the need for tree pruning at pandal sites, timely provision of slag for construction work, and addressing site limitations due to ongoing park construction. The committee requested that alternative sites be provided and emphasized the need for concessions on electricity rates, given that the festival is organized with grants.

Additional demands included simplifying paperwork for electricity connections, improving the immersion ghat from last year’s conditions, and developing the Bodhanwala ghat for vehicle turning. The committees also requested early provision of slag, repair of street lights and high mast lights, availability of dustbins, and completion of unfinished work from last year, such as the drainage issues at L4 ground Sidgora and East Bengal Colony.

The General Manager assured the attendees that Tata Steel UISL is committed to delivering better services than previous years and addressing the issues raised. Key figures in attendance included General Secretary Ashutosh Singh, Executive President Bhupendra Singh, Senior Vice President Diwakar Singh, Vice President Dharmendra Prasad, and others involved in the preparation and coordination of the festival.
