Organises Plastic Plugging and Tree Plantation on World Environment Day
Jamshedpur, June 5: Tata Steel UISL celebrated World Environment Day by concluding the 15-day campaign on RRR at Gopal Maidan on Monday, June 5. To mark the day plastic plugging activity was organised at different locations such as Kasidih, Ramdas Bhatta, Bistupur, Sonari, CH Area, Baridih, and Burma mines.
The event aimed to address the pressing issue of plastic pollution and promote sustainable practices, bringing together esteemed guests, experts, and stakeholders to discuss collective efforts in fostering a cleaner and greener environment.

East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, as the Guest of Honour, along with Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel UISL.
A certificate of appreciation was also awarded to Tata Steel UISL by JNAC for the performance in Indian Swachhata League 2022. TSUISL managing director received the award.

Under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) every year Swachh Survekshan is conducted which includes various city competitions like Swachh School, Hospital and Hotel. Awards were also given to best performing school, hotel, hospital and brand ambassador by JNAC.
Meanwhile, tree plantation drive was also conducted where 1515 trees of 26 species were planted at CRM Bara and New Bara Flats. Mamta Priyadarshi, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Dalbhum graced the occasion as chief guest, along with Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, and Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel UISL, participated in the plantation activities.
Tata Steel UISL reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability and pledged to continue investing in initiatives aimed at combating plastic pollution. By organizing the RRR Conclave and successfully concluding the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban campaign, the company reiterates its position as a leader in environmental stewardship and sustainable development
