Tata Steel to recruit Junior Engineer Trainees

Jamshedpur, Jan 8: Tata Steel has issued notifications for the recruitment of Junior Engineer Trainee (JET) and has invited applications from candidates across India, with separate vacancies for Jharkhand, Odisha, and Maharashtra. Notably, the recruitment is open to the son, daughter, son-in-law, and wife of Tata Steel employees.

The vacancies are available for Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Metallurgy, Ceramics, Chemical, and Civil Engineering disciplines. Applicants must have completed a 3 or 4 years full-time degree or diploma from an institution recognized by AICTE or UGC. Diploma holders from RD Tata Technical Education Centre, JN Tata Technical Education Center Gopalpur, and Tata Steel Technical Institute of Burmamines are also eligible.

Candidates whose diploma or degree course will be completed by July 2024 are eligible to apply. Separate domicile requirements are specified for Maharashtra, Odisha, and Jharkhand.

The eligibility criteria include a minimum of 60% marks for General Male, 55% for General Female, 50% for Transgender, SC, and ST candidates. The age limit for General Male or Female applicants is between January 1, 1999, and January 1, 2007. Transgender or SC/ST candidates have an additional relaxation of three years, with the birth date falling between January 1, 1996, and January 1, 2007.

Selected candidates will undergo 12 months of training, and a stipend of Rs 16,531 will be provided. The application period is from January 8 to January 19, and the written examination is scheduled for February 18.

Additionally, a separate notification has been issued for the son, daughter, and son-in-law of Tata Steel employees, providing them with additional benefits. Spouses or registered relations of currently working employees can also apply. The application process and eligibility criteria for this category remain the same as mentioned above.
