Jamshedpur, March 7: Tata Steel Jamshedpur and Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL) have filed for another electricity tariff increase in Jamshedpur and Seraikela Kharsawan district, including Adityapur. The Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC) has scheduled public hearings for these applications. The tariff hearing for TSUISL is set for March 19 at 3 pm in the Adityapur Auto Cluster Building auditorium, while the hearing for Tata Steel’s electricity tariff is scheduled for March 20 at 11 am in the Golmuri Club hall. Tata Steel has applied for tariff adjustments for Jamshedpur for the financial year 2022-2023 and the annual revenue requirements for 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. The commission invited suggestions, comments, and objections until February 24, with consumer complaints accepted via website or email until March 2. This comes approximately a year after the last tariff hike in November 2023, with Tata Steel and TSUISL seeking another increase after four months. A fresh round of public hearings is expected to follow.
