Jamshedpur, June: A two-day Tata Steel Scholars� meet organised by Tata Steel�s Tribal Cultural Society started today at TCC, Sonari.
BK Das, Vice President, Iron Making, Tata Steel, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He called upon the Tata Steel Scholars to always be on the lookout for learning opportunities. �For this, on occasions you may be required to step into the unknown. Muster courage for it and don�t fear from exploring the unknown as long as it offers you learning opportunities,� said B K Das.
A total of 70 Tata Steel Scholars participated in the meet.
A session on `Business Etiquette� was conducted by Rupa Mahanty, an alumna of IIM Calcutta. She asked the Tata Steel Scholars �not to forget� their background and �never feel� they are less than anyone.
Tata Steel Scholars Programme offers mentoring support along with financial assistance to the poor SC/ST students who make it some of the country�s top-notch institutes like IIT, NIT, TISS and XIMB.
Biren Ramesh Bhuta, Chief, CSR, Tata Steel, Urmila Ekka, Head, Tribal Cultural Society were also present during the meet, along with other CSR staff.
