Tata Steel organizes Site Safety Training Programme

Jamshedpur : Tata Steel�s Urban Services department, in partnership with Safety Excellence Centre (SEC), runs Site Safety Supervisor Training Programme. The 11th batch of the programme was launched on February 10, 2014 which concluded on March 14, 2014. A total of 24 youth successfully completed the training programme.

Site Safety Training programme is designed to train the local unemployed youth to provide them with a sustainable livelihood opportunity. Urban Services has been instrumental in framing the entire five-week training which also includes a week of hands-on experience inside the factory premises.

Employees from Safety Excellence Centre (SEC) offer free training as part of �Employee Volunteerism.� After successful completion of the training, the students do get recruited by various registered vendors of Tata Steel and others.

The convocation for the successful candidates was conducted today at Safety Excellence Centre. Capt. Amitabh, Head, Skill Development, Corporate Social Responsibility, Tata Steel graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and handed over certificates to 24 successful candidates.
