Jamshedpur, Feb 8: A two-day workshop on coal and coke making 2023 kicked off at the United Club, Jamshedpur on Wednesday. Uttam Singh, Vice President, Iron Making, Tata Steel graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The workshop is organised by Tata Steel.
The event focused on fundamentals and innovations in process control in coal and coke making. It also emphasizes on future challenges in coke making and coal availability. The workshop brings together around 50+ participants representing all verticals involved in coke making providing an exclusive technical forum to discuss, deliberate, exchange and explore critical areas related to coal and coke making. Topics like Insight of coal and coke characterizations and process of conversion of coal into graphite, Coal and coke quality assessment through pilot oven, Principle of Coke Oven Design.
On first day of coal and coke making workshop 2023, keynote lecture and technical sessions were delivered by eminent professionals from the coal and coke making industry. On February 9, five technical sessions from the eminent professionals are planned.
