Jamshedpur, July 11: Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation (TSFIF) today observed �World Population Day�. Dr Rajan Chaudhry, GM, Medical Services, Tata Steel, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
In his address, Dr Rajan stressed on the need of population stabilization though safe and effective family planning methods.
Niloy Mitter, Head, Health & TQM, Tata Steel underlined the importance of sensitizing youth on population stabilization. �Street plays are a potent medium to drive home the message on family planning in rural areas,� said Mitter.
As a part of the event, a series of street plays was organized to spread awareness on population issues. The plays highlighted the benefits of family planning in an informative way and touched upon various safe and effective measures one can adopt for small family.
Some more plays will be staged at all the 13 MCH (Maternal and Child Health) clinics of Tata Steel, in and around Jamshedpur over the next few days.
Among those present on the occasion included Dr CR Sardar, Registrar & Process Leader, Health, CSR, Dr Pushpa Tiwari, Administrator, TSFIF and Dr Tejinder Pal Kaur, Registrar, CSR.
