Jamshedpur, Sep 25: Tata Steel has introduced an evening diploma course for its permanent employees across all plants and locations. The course is available for employees working in mechanical, electrical, and metallurgical fields at both manufacturing plants and mining locations. The course is non-residential, with classes scheduled from Monday to Saturday in the evening. These will be conducted at training centres and through online modules, with some content covered via e-learning.
Eligible employees must meet specific educational and experience requirements. Applicants must have passed matriculation with English, Science, and Maths, or hold qualifications such as NAC, Train Apprentice, ITI, or one-year apprentice. Tata Steel TJTS pass-outs and those in permanent roles for two years are also eligible. Non-NAC and non-TJTS employees should have a minimum of four years in a permanent position. The age limit for applicants is 45 years.
The course is designed to provide employees with qualifications equivalent to a diploma in mechanical, electrical, or metallurgical engineering, enhancing promotion opportunities. Applications can be submitted online until October 5, with a written examination scheduled for October 14. The exam will consist of 50 questions, with a time limit of 60 minutes. Successful candidates will be reinstated based on the results.
