Ranchi: The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (JSSC CGL) examination paper leak has now reached the High Court, with a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or judicial inquiry into the incident on Wednesday. The examination was held on January 28, 2023, saw a major controversy after allegations of a paper leak surfaced.
The PIL has been filed in the High Court, arguing that the ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the state police has not been transparent, as the investigation’s findings have not yet been made public. The petitioner has requested that a more thorough investigation be conducted by the CBI or through a judicial inquiry. As of now, the PIL has not been listed for hearing.
The JSSC CGL exam, conducted by the state government to fill 2,025 posts in various departments, attracted over 650,000 applicants. However, after reports of the paper leak emerged, the police were prompted to launch an investigation. SIT comprising of seven officers, including three deputy superintendents of police (DSPs), was formed to probe the matter. The SIT team has already submitted its investigation report to the court.
