Tata Steel joins hand with JSPCB for promotion of Mission LiFE

Jamshedpur, Feb 21: Ram Pravesh Singh, Regional Officer of Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB), flagged off the cycle tour of V. Varte from the JRD Tata Sports Complex Jamshedpur today. Varte, hailing from Aizawl, Mizoram, is on a mission to raise awareness on air pollution through his ‘Ride to clean air’ cycling initiative as part of the Mission LiFE programme.

Varte’s journey started from Aizawl on January 25, 2024, covering cities like Agartala, Shillong, Guwahati, Ranchi, and now Jamshedpur, spanning approximately 2250 km. He will further ride to Kharagpur, Kolkata, and then head towards South India on his bicycle, promoting the use of bicycles for short commutes and advocating for electric vehicles to reduce air and noise pollution.

Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board, Tata Steel, and ISWP extend their support to V. Varte in his mission to promote a ‘Clean and Green Sustainable Lifestyle’ through Mission LiFE.

They applaud his efforts in spreading awareness about environmental conservation and wish him success in his journey ahead.
