Jamshedpur, Oct 18: Tata Steel’s Sports Department organised Inter Divisional Basketball Tournament from October 16 to18 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
Ranjay Kumar Singh, Chief Thin Slab Caster & Rolling, Tata Steel graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief Sports Excellence Centres. Hemant Gupta, Head Adventure Programme and Sports, was present as Guest of Honour during the prize distribution ceremony.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 21 Units of Tata Steel. More than 450 participants showcased their talent in this year’s competition.
In a display of exceptional skill and sportsmanship, Iron Making emerged as the winner in Women’s category whereas Steel Manufacturing team bagged runner’s up position. OMQ emerged as the 2nd runner’s up.
In Men’s category, Steel Manufacturing emerged as winner, whereas OMQ bagged the runner’s up position and West Bokaro clinched 2nd runner’s up position.
To ensure fair play and adherence to the rules, the tournament benefited from the expertise of renowned technical officials, including T Vasudev Rao, Rakesh Mahato, Ravi Rao, Sneha Kumari, Azhar, Mohan Kumar, Arif, Jalal, Shubham, Manish, Tanmay Azhar and Anjali performed their roles admirably.
