Tata Steel Jamshedpur hosts ‘Mindfulness and Wellness session’ for media

Jamshedpur, October 22: A session on “Mindfulness and Wellness for Media” was organized today at the CFE Auditorium. The event was organised by Tata Steel’s Corporate Communications department. Dr. Manoj Kumar Sahoo, Head Consultant and HOD of Psychiatry, Medical Support Services, Tata Main Hospital (TMH) was the keynote speaker. The session was attended by approximately 30 journalists across print, electronic and digital mediums.

Sanjay Mishra, Editor of Prabhat Khabar, Jamshedpur, set the context for the event, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness, particularly in the fast-paced media industry. His introduction highlighted the need for mindfulness and wellness practices for media professionals who often face stress due to the nature of their work.

Dr. Sahoo addressed the audience, sharing insights on how mindfulness techniques can help reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance overall well-being. He also spoke about the significance of mental wellness in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, especially for media personnel who operate under tight deadlines and pressure. The interactive session allowed attendees to ask questions and receive practical advice on incorporating mindfulness and wellness into their daily lives.

The event saw participation of senior journalists including Braj Bhushan Singh, Jai Prakash Rai, Udit Agrawal, B Srinivas, Satyendra Kumar, Parvinder Singh Bhatia, S N Dubey, Brajesh Singh, Anjani Kumar Pandey, Nanak Singh, Sanjay Prasad among others.
