Jamshedpur, May 28: As part of Tata Steel’s initiatives leading to World Environment Day on June 5, Tata Steel Jamshedpur organised two vibrant events, Colourful Serenity (Live Painting Competition) and Trash to Treasure (Best Out of Waste Craft Competition) today at the JRD Tata Sports Complex aimed at fostering environmental consciousness among young minds.
Over 400 children across classes 1 to 12 showcased their artistic talents through live painting, emphasising the beauty of nature and the importance of environmental conservation. More than 50 entries from students in classes 4 to 10 creatively transformed waste materials into valuable crafts, highlighting recycling and creativity.
These initiatives were conducted by Tata Steel in collaboration with the Regional Office (RO) of the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB). The events aimed to inspire the younger generation to take an active role in environmental protection. Officials from the Regional Office of the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board lauded Tata Steel’s commitment to spreading environmental awareness within the community. Mr. Ram Pravesh Kumar, Regional Officer, JSPCB, specifically commended the children for their creative use of waste materials in their artwork.
Tata Steel Jamshedpur has also planned several activities such as community cleanup drives, tree plantation activities and technical sessions with renowned experts working prolifically in the field of sustainability and environment.
These activities reflect Tata Steel’s commitment to nurturing environmental awareness within the community, encouraging children to engage with and appreciate the natural world as the company approaches the celebration of World Environment Day on June 5.
