Jamshedpur, October 16. Around 25-30 employees were allegedly retrenched by Tata Steel’s contractor M/s Ajay Associates.
Besides, they were also not paid full and final settlement (notice pay, retrenchment compensation).
Johar Jharkhand Labour Federation has written a letter to the Deputy Labour Commissioner and Deputy Chief Factory Inspector (Kolhan) demanding action. Taking cognizance of this matter, the Deputy Chief Factory Inspector has issued an order to the contractor to give full and final settlement of the retrenched workers.
In this regard, a letter was issued on October 11, directing M/s Ajay Associate to make the payment within seven days. It is known that Johar Jharkhand Labor Federation had told that M/s Ajay Associate has deducted Rs 8,000 to 10,000 in the full and final settlement based on Tata Steel’s CLM portal. The company is not paying notice payment, retrenchment compensation and gratuity. Taking cognizance of this, a demand was made to pay proper full and final settlement to all these workers.
