Tata Steel Jamshedpur employee’s house robbed, valuables worth Rs 8 lakh stolen

Jamshedpur: Jewelry and cash worth ₹8 lakh were stolen from the house of Tata Steel employee Ravi Shankar Mishra, a resident of Agrico Road No. 1, Quarter No. L/5/71, under Sidhgora police station. The incident occurred on Sunday night, while the family attended a wedding ceremony at the Agrico Club House.

According to the complaint lodged by Mishra, the theft took place between 8:00 PM and 11:30 PM. Mishra stated that the family had locked the house before leaving for the wedding. At around 11:30 PM, his son returned to the house and found the main gate locked from inside. Upon raising an alarm, the thieves fled through the back gate.

The burglars reportedly gained entry by scaling the back wall of the house and breaking the wooden door using iron tools. They ransacked the house, stealing gold and silver ornaments, ₹25,000 in cash, and even the recording chips of the CCTV cameras installed in the house.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a passenger tempo parked behind the house around 8:00 PM. However, they assumed it was related to the wedding ceremony and did not investigate. The tempo disappeared after the robbery, leading the police and family to suspect that the thieves used it to transport the stolen items.

The police are investigating the case, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
