Jamshedpur, July 17: Management Trainees (Commercial-HRM) of Tata Steel Limited visited the Tata Workers’ Union on Thursday for an interactive and enriching session aimed at deepening their understanding of industrial relations and employee welfare practices.
During the session, the newly joined trainees were welcomed by the Union’s senior office bearers, who shared the historical and current role of the Union in fostering a collaborative and harmonious workplace. Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President of the Union, along with General Secretary Satish Kumar Singh and Vice President Shahnawaz Alam, spoke about the Union’s century-old legacy and its consistent efforts in promoting the welfare of Tata Steel employees.
The trainees were also addressed by Sanjay Kumar Singh and Rajiv Choudhary, both Vice Presidents, and Shyam Babu, Assistant Secretary, who provided further insights into shop-floor practices and real-time union-management interactions. These exchanges helped the young HR professionals gain a practical perspective on workforce management.
As part of the visit, the trainees toured the VG Gopal Heritage Centre, which highlights key milestones and contributions of the Tata Workers’ Union over the decades. The trainees expressed deep appreciation for the Union’s dedication to building strong industrial relations and were inspired by the experience, which offered a valuable glimpse into effective employee engagement and workplace cooperation.
