Proposal for power tariff enhancement in Jamshedpur, Seraikela-Kharsawan

Jamshedpur: Tata Steel and Tata Steel UISL have proposed an increase in electricity rates for 2024 in Jamshedpur and Seraikela-Kharsawan district. This comes after previous rate hikes in 2022 and 2023. A public hearing is scheduled on this matter, with consumers allowed to submit suggestions, comments, and objections until February 24. Complaints can be lodged through the website or email. The Regulatory Commission will respond by March 2.

Domestic LT (0 to 100 units): Current Rs. 3.00 per unit, Proposed Rs. 3.30 per unit
Domestic LD above 100 units: Current Rs. 5.15-5.65 per unit, Proposed Rs. 5.10-5.60 per unit
Domestic HT: Proposed Rs. 5.10-5.60 per unit
Irrigation and Agriculture: Proposed Rs. 5.10-5.50 per unit
Commercial Services: Proposed Rs. 5.75-6.35 per unit
Low Tension Industrial Services: Proposed Rs. 5.50-6.10 per unit
High Tension Industrial Services: Proposed Rs. 6.30-6.95 per unit
Street Light: Proposed Rs. 6.20-6.85 per unit
Railways Traction Service, Military Engineer: Proposed Rs. 6.25-6.90 per unit
Temporary Connection: One and a half times more
