Tata Steel donates Rs 10 lakh

Jamshedpur: Tata Steel donated Rs 10 lakhs to Subarnarekha Burning Ghat management for up-gradation of anti-pollution units in a small function on Thursday.

Subarnarekha Burning Ghat, a non-profit organization, provides funeral facility for the citizens of Jamshedpur. There has been an increasing pressure on civic amenities in Jamshedpur as it has grown over the years.

As part of its commitment to serve the citizens of Jamshedpur and cater to the need for upgrading infrastructure for performing the last rites of the deceased, Tata Steel has already donated Rs 49 lakh towards installation of 3rd Electric Furnace at Subarnarekha Burning Ghat.

Now towards the up-gradation of the existing anti-pollution units at Subarnrekha Burning Ghat to meet the environmental norms and for beautification of some parts within the premises, Sunil Bhaskaran, VP, Corporate Services, Tata Steel handed over the cheque of Rs 10 Lac to Alok Kar and Sujit Roy, vice president and General Secretary respectively of Subarnarekha Burning Ghat, at Corporate Services Conference Room, General Office.

Also present on the occasion were Kulvin Suri, chief, Corporate Communications, India & SEA, Tata Steel and Anil Oran, head, Corporate Relations, Tata Steel.
