Jamshedpur, July 2: Tata Steel has assured timely maintenance and backlog correction of TRM jobs in its employees’ quarters, as announced by Tata Steel UISL MD Rituraj Sinha following directives from Tata Steel MD TV Narendran. The commitment comes in response to concerns raised by LD 3 employee and former committee member Raghunandan Paswan during an online session with the MD, highlighting prolonged delays in TRM jobs.
Rituraj Sinha confirmed that agreements have been reached with the union, paving the way for the initiation of new TRM jobs. He acknowledged that pending tasks will be systematically reviewed and addressed.
Addressing specific concerns, WRM employee Arvind Tiwari brought attention to the safety issue posed by gaps between toilets and rooms in L-6 quarters, necessitating open-air movement. In response, Administration representative Pranay Sinha assured that measures are being taken to roof over these gaps in newer quarters, with plans to address similar requests for older quarters.
During the session, Pranay Sinha, also a poet invited from Nepal to recite poetry, proposed company sponsorship to enhance Tata Steel’s reputation. However, the MD clarified that such sponsorships are not feasible for everyone due to the company’s diverse locations and talents. He suggested discussing the matter further with the union for alternative avenues.
Previously, Tata Steel MD TV Narendran emphasized enhancing company performance and urged collective support for achieving net-zero emissions as part of ongoing initiatives.
