Tata Steel celebrates Yoga Day with citizens of Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 21: Focusing on fostering health and wellness within the Jamshedpur community, Tata Steel organised interactive yoga session on International Yoga Day at JRD Tata Sports Complex. Uttam Singh, Vice President (Iron Making), Tata Steel graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

As part of its commitment to the physical and mental well-being of residents, Tata Steel setup dedicated yoga corner at JRD Tata Sports Complex. More than 1200 individuals from all walks of life participated in the early morning yoga session by Arvind Prasad, Yoga Expert.

In an hour long programme a host of yoga asaan’s were practiced namely Surya Namaskaar, Makaraasan, Bhujangaasan, Shalbhasan, Nauka aasan, Markat aasan, kandhra aasan, gomukh aasan, manduk aasan, ardh matsya aasan, annulom-vilom, bhardrika, kapalbhati pranayama, Ujjae pranayama and Agnisaarkriya.

A similar event was organised at Rose Garden (Near Burn Care Unit) Tata Main Hospital. It was conducted by RPS Yadav, Yoga Instructor. More than 60 employees participated in the session.

The Safety and Security Department respectively also organised yoga sessions and a total of 250 employees participated. For employees inside Tata Steel Works, Occupational Health Services Department organised an exclusive session at Steelennium Hall.
