Steel major celebrates India’s 77th Independence Day with zeal

 The Company observed Flag Hoisting, Parades across locations

 

Jamshedpur, Aug 15: Tata Steel commemorated India’s 77th Independence Day with enthusiasm and patriotic fervor across its locations, echoing the theme of “Nation First, Always First” which stands as a testament to India’s remarkable success story since gaining independence from British rule in 1947. This occasion not only marked India’s 76 years of freedom but also showcased the enduring spirit and unwavering commitment of Tata Steel towards the nation’s interest and progress.

At Tata Steel Jamshedpur, the celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the national flag at the main gate of Tata Steel Works by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services.

Chanakya asserted that we shall be proud to be part of an organisation that has not only been pivotal in shaping the industrial landscape of India but has also played a significant role in propelling the nation’s growth story post-independence. From our inception, Tata Steel has been at the forefront of catalysing India’s economic development, contributing to infrastructure, employment generation, technological advancement, and the overall upliftment of society.

In his speech on the occasion, he focussed on the works being done in creation and promotion of a circular economy, need of safety consciousness at every level of workforce, company’s commitment to technological innovation which leads to country’s growth,

Tata Steel is committed to nation building, community development and consistently works towards fostering a culture of growth, inclusivity and enables equal opportunities for its employees.

Over the last 76 years, Tata Steel has contributed to two-thirds of the country’s flyovers and bridges, including modern landmarks such as Mumbai’s Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Assam’s Bogibeel Bridge (the country’s longest railroad bridge) and Andhra Pradesh’s longest flyover, the Kanaka Durga. The Company has also partnered with the Nation on key infrastructure projects – over 32 major airports and all metro railway networks in the country use our steel.

Flag hoisting events took place in other establishments of Tata Steel in Jamshedpur including Tata Main Hospital (TMH), Sports Department, Security Department etc.

In the Raw Material locations, the occasion was celebrated at the General Manager’s Office in Jamadoba (Jharia). Sanjay Rajoria, General Manager of Jharia Division graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and hoisted the national flag. Flag hoisting ceremonies were also held at West Bokaro and Noamundi.
