Jamshedpur, Feb 21: In a significant move facilitated by Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy, a crucial meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Jamshedpur to discuss the implementation of development plans and address related challenges in the Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency. The meeting saw the participation of Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC), Sub-Divisional Officer, Deputy Municipal Administrator of JNAC, Head Tata Land, and various officials from JNAC and Tata Steel UISL.

Several key decisions were made during the meeting, focusing on kickstarting approved development schemes before the Lok Sabha elections announcement and accelerating the pace of pending projects. The primary topics of discussion included estimating the MLA fund schemes and initiating their implementation, executing approved district plan schemes, completing the Moharda drinking water supply scheme, and commencing work on providing electricity to every household in Cable Town.

A prominent decision was taken to expedite the work of supplying electricity to every household in Cable Town. Tata Steel, represented by its Land Head, expressed readiness to commence the work immediately. However, challenges were noted with the Resolution Professional (RP) of the insolvent cable company not cooperating. To address this, it was decided that the Deputy Commissioner would convene a meeting, including the RP, and issue legal instructions for Tata Steel to provide electricity to every house in Cable Town after the meeting.

The meeting also emphasized the swift completion of the first phase of the Moharda drinking water supply project, involving the laying of a 6-kilometer pipeline to provide water to every house and constructing a water tank near the Telco Bhuvaneshwari temple. An expenditure of Rs 14 crore has been allocated for this, with Tata Steel UISL overseeing its implementation.

Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy proposed working on drain-based development schemes to enhance the city’s living conditions. A joint task force of Tata Steel and JNAC will be formed to address this, focusing on drain cleaning, constructing guard-walls, and developing plans to prevent drain water from entering localities during the rainy season.

Further suggestions from MLA Saryu Roy included area-wise development plans for Birsanagar, Baridih-Bagunhatu-Bagunnagar, and Bhuiyandih-Babudih-Lalbhattha. Plans were discussed for the development of parks, sports facilities, and a stadium in the Cable Town area.

The meeting concluded with decisions to expedite approved MLA fund schemes, including indoor and outdoor sports facilities, and the formation of a Park and Garden Cell by JNAC to enhance the condition of parks and playgrounds across Jamshedpur.

These initiatives aim to elevate the standard of living in Tata Steel areas, improve infrastructure, and provide essential amenities like water, electricity, and sanitation to residents.
