Tata Power and Salesforce Partner for AI-Driven Clean Energy

Accelerating India’s Clean Energy Transition

Jamshedpur: Tata Power, one of India’s largest vertically integrated power companies, has announced a collaboration with Salesforce to digitally transform its rooftop solar (RTS), EV charging, and smart home solutions. This partnership strengthens Tata Power’s clean energy roadmap and aligns with India’s net-zero goals by establishing an intelligent, AI-powered energy ecosystem.

Tata Power has deployed Agentforce Sales, Service, and Marketing across its subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL). These tools use AI and automation to enhance visibility, speed up decision-making, and create seamless experiences for customers and partners.

Digital Innovation in Renewables

The Salesforce platform serves as a strategic digital backbone for Tata Power’s high-growth renewable businesses. Key features include:

  • End-to-End Digitization: The platform streamlines lead management, inventory visibility, and process automation.

  • Real-Time Tracking: Enhanced transparency ensures operational efficiency and a superior customer experience.

  • Proprietary AI Layer: Tata Power built a deep learning layer on top of Salesforce to enable “zero-touch” quality and safety validation. This allows for instant on-site verification and automated warranty generation for Solaroof customers.

Rapid Growth in Solar Segment

Driven by the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, Tata Power’s residential rooftop solar segment has grown over 200% in the past two financial years. Overall, the company’s solar portfolio revenue increased fivefold between FY2020 and FY2025.

Looking ahead, the two companies will co-innovate AI-led workflows to transform contact center operations, focusing on faster resolutions and predictive engagement.

Leadership Perspectives

Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD of Tata Power, stated that digital capability acts as a critical enabler for speed and customer trust. “Leveraging Salesforce’s AI-powered platform, we are transforming customer and partner journeys with greater transparency and agility,” he said.

Arundhati Bhattacharya, President & CEO of Salesforce – South Asia, remarked that Tata Power’s digital-first approach shows how technology can catalyze national transformation. “We are proud to partner with Tata Power in building a future-ready energy ecosystem that harnesses data, AI, and automation for long-term climate resilience,” she added.
