Tata Motors Workers Union leadership heads to Pune for urgent meeting with board officials

Jamshedpur: In a bid to address the concerns of Tata Motors workers, the President and General Secretary of the Tata Motors Workers Union, Gurmeet Singh and RK Singh, respectively, embarked on a trip to Pune on Monday evening. The purpose of their visit is to meet with Tata Motors board members and appeal for the reconsideration of recent decisions, including the halting of reinstatements and the withdrawal of transfer orders for certain employees.

The union leaders are set to engage with Tata Motors board members, urging them to reconsider their stance on the reinstatement of employee sons and the cessation of transfers after the permanentization of By-Six employees. The decision to transfer permanent employees to Tata Motors’ plants in Pantnagar, Lucknow, Sanand, Dharwad, and Pune has sparked discontent among the workforce.

Earlier on Monday, a meeting took place between the management and Tata Motors Union at the Telco Guest House. During the meeting, Union President Gurmeet Singh and General Secretary RK Singh requested changes to the proposed plan from Plant Head Ravindra Kulkarni and HR Head Mohan Ganta. However, the management remained firm on the initial draft, emphasizing that there would be no alterations.
