Jamshedpur, April 1: The Tata Motors Workers’ Union has been awarded the first prize for its outstanding contribution in the field of voluntary blood donation at the 39th Annual function of the Voluntary Blood Donors Association (VBDA).
The award was presented during a function held at Michael John Auditorium in Bistupur, where Union President Shashi Bhushan Prasad and General Secretary R.K. Singh received the honour on behalf of the organization.
Notably, the Union had created a remarkable record on March 3, during its Foundation Day, by organizing a massive blood donation camp that collected an impressive 3,140 units of blood in a single day—an achievement widely appreciated across the state.
Expressing gratitude, President Shashi Bhushan Prasad and General Secretary R.K. Singh jointly dedicated the award to all union members, employees, management, and the generous citizens of the city who contributed to the noble cause.
The award was conferred by VBDA’s Founder President Sunil Mukherjee, Finance Secretary Amit Bose, President Indrajeet Paul, and General Secretary Kamal Kumar Ghosh, recognizing the Union’s exceptional commitment to saving lives through voluntary blood donation.
