Jamshedpur, March 27: Tata Motors has been running several development schemes in Rajdoha Village of Jadugora.
Plant head of the company AB Lall along with his wife Bharti Lall and senior officers visited the village and took stock of the ongoing schemes and held talks with the beneficiaries.
Tata Motors has adopted the Rajdoha Village and is working to empower the rural women groups. During the visit the company officials distributed hens among the women groups so that the villagers can lead a happy life and the financial status of the adivasi community can rise above the normal.
On the occasion a programme was organised at former village head Anita Murmu’s residence where Tata Motors Plant head AB Lall, wife Bharti Lall and other senior officers of the company were accorded a traditional welcome.
In his speech, AB Lall said, the country can prosper only when the villages can thrive. Tata Motors is working to help the women groups become self reliant for which the company is running campaign in Rajdoha along with seven villages.
Plant head further said, the company is encouraging mushroom farming, fisheries, beekeeping among the women groups and is also making market available. The women associated with the groups are currently earning Rs five thousand per month but the company has set a target to help reach their income to Rs 15000 per month.
